Music classes at Oakwood are a part of the Fine Arts Wheel.
This course is designed to develop musicianship and to explore the ways that music has enriched and influenced our lives. Students will learn how to perform, improvise, compose, read and notate music, analyze music, and also understand music’s relationships between the arts and history. In this course, we will explore the ways that music has enriched and influenced our lives. Throughout the class there will be numerous opportunities for each student to express his or her personality through various music projects, such as group rhythm composition, song writing, and drum circles. All students are expected to participate in all activities with an open mind.
