Who I am |
I am a musician, music teacher and avid music listener. I love all kinds of music, but especially classical. I taught myself to play the ukele this summer (using YouTube of course!) and I love it! I also play piano, keyboard and bass guitar.
My son is a Marine who served in Iraq and he is a firefighter in Houston. His wife graduated from Texas A&M and is a Landscape Architect. My daughter graduated from UT and is a marketing/communications director for a company in Austin. I have three terrific rescue dogs, all some sort of Chihuahua. Their names are Oboe, Topper and Gus. My favorite things to do include visiting my children in Austin and Houston, playing with my dogs, reading books, playing the piano and ukele and playing simple games on my Kindle or phone (7 Little Words and Bonza especially). I love musical theater and was involved with the Theatre Company in Bryan for many years as a piano player. I even got to be onstage in "The Music Man" as Mrs. Paroo. I also enjoy playing bass guitar or piano/keyboard or singing with my church praise team. |
MyHistory |
Before I came to Oakwood, I spent 4 years teaching choir to 6th, 7th and 8th grade students at Rayburn Middle School in Bryan and 15 years teaching music to K-5th grade students at Johnson Elementary in Bryan. I also taught music to K-5th graders for 3 years in Aldine I.S.D. before I moved to Bryan.
After I left Aldine I.S.D. and before I began teaching at Johnson, I worked as a Certified Legal Assistant for a number of years and then was an Administrative Assistant at St. Joseph Hospital. |
